Thinking of Entrepreneur Ideas

Share

Lately I’ve been thinking more and more on running my own business and what entrepreneur ideas are good, and which ones are just plain bad. I’ve researched on the web, listened to podcasts (which I’ll tell you about in a later post), talked with friends, and more. So far I’ve come up empty handed. Why am I telling you this? Honestly, I want to be open with anyone who may be reading, but also to hold myself more accountable to accomplish my goals. Read on to find out what I want to look into more for my entrepreneurial endeavors and what dreams I pursue.

My Current Entrepreneur Ideas

Anytime I ponder what it takes to become a successful entrepreneur I get a headache. Just joking but, seriously, I know it’s not easy. It takes a great deal of hard work and determination to create a successful business. One thing I do know, though, is that if you have the interest and passion behind an area of business you’ll be more successful than if you just decided to start business X because it was trending.

I feel the best way to begin thinking of opportunities in starting a business – or at least what I have been doing – is making a list of all the topics of interest you have in which you also excel. These could be numerous, but what you should consider is if you have more knowledge than most people in this area. If the answer is ‘yes,’ you are on to something.

Here are some of my personal ideas to this point:

          1. Professional Blogger

Currently I don’t have nearly enough people to monetize my blog to where I could make a living off of it. To be quite honest, I have never made one cent on this blog…yet. I truly hope to put myself in a position where I can start earning money from blogging. Why? Because I feel I have talent in this area and I feel that I can provide value through my writing.

           2. Weightlifting Coach

This would be one of my ultimate dream jobs. I love the sport and everything involved in it. I do have about 8 years of experience in competing and coaching, but I have just now really started my path to being able to move up in the coaching world of weightlifting. To be a top coach you have to consistently produce successful athletes; this I know. You can’t blame me for dreaming, though! I have just had my first athlete qualify for a national event, so that’s my first stepping stone to bigger things. One step at a time.

           3. Combination of 1 & 2

To “have my cake and eat it, too” would mean I would be able to make a living off of writing and coaching…and that’s it. Well, maybe that’s it. I do like to travel on adventures with Julie. My idea here, though, is that I would have a successful blog, maybe even write a book or two, and run a weightlifting club.

           4. Travel Blogger/Photographer

As I said, I really like to travel to new places, especially if these places hold historical value. I wouldn’t say that I’m a history buff, but I appreciate seeing historical places and being able to say that I’be been there and experienced it. What better way to do that than to share it with everyone; to share through writing travel stories and photos? Pretty cool way to travel.

What’s Next?

Next? Well, that would be to actually decide on one of your awesome ideas and actually be active in your steps to reach those goals. Decide what the action steps are to accomplishing that goal, and in what order they must happen to become successful. That’s what I’m doing right now 😉

In a soon-to-be post, I will discuss some of the channels I’m using to learn more about business and how to follow through on my ideas.
